Our Sustainability Vision

Transdev's "Vision 2012" strategic plan includes stretching sustainability targets. Key initiatives include:

  • Investing in greener depots (as we have in Bournemouth and Spain).
  • Performing carbon audits of our operation and promoting low CO2 transport projects (all key parts of the UK's Carbon Management Plan).
  • Transdev operates hybrid vehicles in the UK, Netherlands and France where it was the first public transport operator to put a hybrid vehicle into service in the Ile de France in 2009.
  • Developing alternative transport options (for example bicycle hire, car sharing and car pooling).
  • Investing in safe and environmentally friendly training for drivers (for example the UK's DriveWell campaign).
  • Developing a more environmentally aware culture.

Transdev in the UK is working closely with the Carbon Trust, and has developed a Carbon Management Plan. Transdev UK has committed to a programme to cut its CO2 emissions and has set quantified targets for the reduction of its carbon footprint over the next 5 years. The immediate target is to reduce both vehicle and stationary carbon emissions by 10 per cent from 2007 to 2012.
